U19 Jr. Shamrocks Goalie Marina Mirabella Named Proctor Academy 2017-18 MVP

ANDOVER, N.H. - During Friday's school assembly, Proctor Academy announced its 2017-18 Winter Athletic Awards. U19 State Champions Boston Jr. Shamrocks goalie Marina Mirabella '19 (Lynnfield, Mass.) was named the Hornet Girls Varsity Hockey Most Valuable Player.

When presenting her with the MVP award, Girls Varsity Head Coach, Margaret Kennedy commented; “Marina could not have been much better this season. As a goalie that played almost all of the games this year, she consistently stood on her head, and gave the team in front of her the chance to win every game. With a short bench and sometimes-tired players, Marina saw a lot of shots in every game. She never let up more than 3 goals in a game, earned 7 shutouts on the year with a 1.4 GAA, and helped us force overtime in 7 different games. It was an incredible year for Marina Mirabella.”

The Proctor Girls' Hockey program carries a hefty schedule, playing thirty-plus games against some of the top Division 1 and Division 2 teams in New England. The majority of the girls on the team hope to play at the college level, and it is via their hard work, academic integrity, and the guidance and exposure they receive at Proctor that many get the opportunity do so.
